Talk has begun about the possibility of funding for an expansion of the OC Transpo light rail to include Barrhaven, Kanata, and Stittsville. This would be the 3rd phase of the LRT, coming only once the 1.2 billion dollar phase 2 project has been completed. Premier Doug Ford explained that in order for phase 3 to be possible, the provincial and federal governments would have to split the bill equally, however he see's the value in adding this expansion given the growth in these areas. Phase 3 would not be expected until 2025.
