After hearing discussions to replace the 18-hole golf course with housing on the Kanata Golf and Country Club, the residents of Kanata are ready to do whatever it takes to bring these plans to a halt. The Vice President of ClubLink, Robert Visentin argues that the costs of maintaining the course are increasing, while the amount of people golfing is decreasing, however Kanata residents have concerns of their own. Among some of these concerns are property values decreasing with the reduction of greenspace, of which 40% is supposed to be protected by an agreement between the City of Kanata and Campeau Corp.. Residents have said they will lawyer up if it comes to that point.
